Acne Scarring

Fraxel Dual Laser technology provides dramatic improvement to patients with acne scarring. It is FDA approved for this purpose as well as melasma, and resurfacing fine lines and wrinkles.

The cost per treatment is as low as $350, depending upon the treatment area and number of treatments required. Commonly, a treatment regimen is 3 to 5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, with costs of full treatment ranging $2000-$3600.

Results from fractional resurfacing are both immediate and progressive.

Fraxel Dual treatments are effective on the full face, and anywhere on the body. During a consultation, your provider will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results.

Fraxel Dual laser treatments require only topical anesthesia in most cases. A pain management approach is also offered to maximize your comfort during the procedure.

How does Fraxel work?

The Fraxel laser is "fractional" in that it creates thousands of deep, tiny columns also called microthermal zones, penetrating to a precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and predictable. Fraxel stimulates regeneration of the deeper collagen and elastin tissues while resurfacing about 20% of your skin’s surface with each treatment.

How many Fraxel treatments are needed?

The average course of Fraxel treatment is provided in a series of 4-6 treatments, scheduled 4 weeks apart. During a consultation, assessment and individual treatment recommendations will be offered.

What is involved in a Fraxel treatment?

A topical anesthetic is applied and is allowed 45-60 minutes to take full effect. In addition to the topical anesthetic, a pain management option is offered to maximize the comfort during treatment. A solution is applied, creating a contact lubricant between the skin’s surface and the hand piece. The hand piece glides over the skin’s surface much like an airbrush painting. A constant cooling device assists through treatment providing additional comfort.

What happens after a Fraxel treatment?

Immediately following, a mild sunburn sensation may arise for an hour. Some swelling and redness may take place for a couple of days. Make-up may be worn immediately following treatment and routine activities are uninterrupted.
