Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is truly an option today and Skin Speaks Spa M.D. offers the best technology, clarifying that technology means the correct laser energy, to effectively remove the hair follicle.

This treatment is available anywhere that unwanted hair exists on your face and body, and we effectively treat all skin types. Laser hair removal is a treatment that can be life-changing for some, and may be convenient and a boost of confidence to others.

Whatever your reason may be, feel confident knowing that we considered calling this removal of hair so that you didn’t think we were just kidding.

How does the laser remove hair?

The light energies that are delivered in treatment destroy the hair follicle. With each treatment, only the follicles in their first stage of growth, anagen, are susceptible to treatment, which is why laser treatments are provided in a series.

How many treatments will I need?

We offer six treatments per series, however we treat the remaining hair until you’re satisfied up to two years. Treatments are scheduled 4-8 weeks apart to correctly follow the hair growth pattern and consistently reduce the unwanted hair. Following the treatment schedule makes the series of effective.

How do I treat the remaining hair during the course of treatment?

Hair may be shaved, trimmed, and cut. It may not be tweezed, waxed, or removed with depilatories. This disrupts the hair growth pattern by causing trauma and resistance to the follicles. Though many share this concern, the hair in the treatment area will not grow back darker or courser due to shaving. With each treatment, fewer hair follicles remain.
